Value Essay

What`s your definition of value? Mine is something you love and really care about. Do you value your family? Friends? Pets? Maybe you value an electronic of some sort. This essay is about something I value, something priced and something priceless. Do I still have your attention or have you drifted off into space? When I got assigned this project I wasn't that sure about what I valued until I realized that we take a lot for granted like phones,TVs and computers. I value my TV because It teaches me stuff about different countries and different people around the world. Something priceless that I value is laughing, I value laughing because it brings me happiness. We never really take the time to value what we have while we have it. Take some time to appreciate your friends and family while you still have them because one day...they won't be there.

As I sit in my living room watching the news different stories from around the world come on, stuff about tornados, financial problems and wars. Like reading, TV transports you to different places around the world, It helps you learn about places you've never heard about before and really helps you connect with people around the world. I got my first TV when I was 6, it was christmas and my dad`s side of the family got it for me. I remember it was a Disney TV and it was shaped like Mickey Mouse's head (Embarrassing, I know) I had that TV for 8 years and finally realized I needed a new one and decided to give it to my cousins. I got a new one for my 12th birthday but just two years later it stopped working, so back to the store I go. I realize that I am fortunate to have a TV, because there are people around the world who don't have a TV.

I don`t just value laughter because it makes me happy, I value laughter because it makes other people happy. I enjoy making people laugh, it comes natural to me. I laugh a lot too and the bad thing is, I have a very loud laugh so loud you can hear me all the way down the hall. I value the memories I share with my friends and family because everytime we're together we spend it laughing.

These two are similar because they both bring entertainment and I always have someone to do it with, also they always make me happy and put me in a relaxing mood, and just like laughter TV can be infectious (Example: telling someone about a show and then they tell someone else) Even though they're similar they're also very different for example, A TV can be touched while laughter can't and just like theres different types of TV, there is also different types of laughter like, nervous, scared and also real out of breath type laughter and with different types of TV theres, dramatic, scary, sad and comedies and also romantic. So remember to take some time out of your day to appreciate one of your family members or friends. Now that you read what I value, what do you value? What's something important in your life? What's your definition of Value?
